Starting with advertising sales in London in 1998, Tak worked for Progressive Media Group, heading up sales teams across print, digital and events. In 2006 he founded Analysts in Media in New York, which he sold to a venture capitalist in 2009. Since then, he has been based in Hong Kong, working as publisher of Elite Traveler Asia and subsequently General Manager of Edipresse HK, responsible for regional and international sales teams across print, digital and events divisions. He has delivered revenue on titles such as Conde Nast Traveler China, Robb Report, Elite Traveler, Tatler Asia and Ritz Carlton Magazine, among others. Tak is the founder of Nexus Media, based in Asia Pacific with offices in Hong Kong and an international network of offices.
An Asian media veteran, Barrie has lived and worked in Hong Kong, Singapore, Manila and Shanghai since 1982. Barrie led Edipresse Asia as Chairman and CEO from 2004 until 2015. During that time, he drove the acquisition of Tatler magazine and subsequently oversaw Edipresse’s successful expansion into digital, events and contract publishing. Prior to Edipresse, Barrie was CEO of Publicitas Asia. While there he led the acquisition of Emphasis, at that time Asia’s largest contract publisher specialising in in-flight media, in particular the inflight magazines and entertainment for Cathay Pacific, Dragon Air, Thai Airways, China Airlines, Air India and more.
Chief Financial Officer
Fenny is a senior finance professional and brings a wealth of professional experience to the Nexus team. In addition to Hong Kong, Fenny has worked for multi-national corporations in China, Canada and Australia. Prior to joining Nexus, she had been working in the media industry for over 15 years as the CFO of Publicitas Asia, overseeing all aspects of the financial operation for the media representation and publishing businesses for the whole of Asia.
Sales Director, Nexus Media
Formerly the Advertising Director of Publicitas Hong Kong, Yvonne possesses over nine years of advertising sales experience across all media platforms – print, digital, new media, OOH and TV, within both the domestic and international markets. Yvonne has top-notch publisher management experience in business, luxury fashion and in-flight titles.
With nearly 17 years of experience in media planning and coordination, Vivian joins the Nexus team to oversee all sales trafficking and client management. With experience working internationally, she has worked for the Star group as its music programming officer, and Turner Broadcasting where she was responsible for website content planning and management. Most recently, at Fox Networks, Vivian was responsible for regional campaigns in advertising sales for its TV networks in the Asia Pacific region.
General Manager, Sales
Gloria has 25 years of experience in the sales industry, having held senior roles at a host of international firms. As advertising director for Publicitas and Emphasis Media she joined the inflight division and was responsible for the Thailand market including Sawasdee, Inflight Magazine of Thai Airways, Discovery of Cathay Pacific, Silk Road of DragonAir and Dynasty of China Airlines. And as associate publisher for SCMP Hearst HK, she headed up the sales and marketing team for Elle HK.

With over 14 years of experience as a journalist in London, Beijing and Hong Kong, Mat is the former Managing Editor of Time Out Hong Kong and has worked across a range of titles from cameras and technology to cars and travel. He now heads up the editorial teams for Nexus and Localiiz.
Amanda began her career in journalism with Time Out Hong Kong, and has since written for a wide range of lifestyle publications throughout the city as a freelance writer. She now works across Nexus titles and Localiiz, producing a range of features and content.
Regional Director, Nexus Media
Ana has worked in media for over 10 years, in 10 different countries across four continents. She started in journalism in Latin America, then moved to marketing and advertising sales for the two biggest broadcasters in the region, and finally moved to develop nation based branding campaigns published with internationally renowned media in Europe, Asia and Africa. Now stationed in Singapore, she joins the Nexus Team as a Regional Director.
Head of Commercial and Advertising Sales
Sharifa started at Haymarket publishing before joining the Elite Traveler team where she transformed the level of sales opportunities for the luxury travel magazine before taking on the Sales Director role for Elite Traveler. As Sales Director, Sharifa works directly with a range of exclusive clients across Asia to ensure their brands achieve the best possible representation.
Sophie began her career in public relations in the south west of England, representing F&B and hospitality clients and later managing the PR for Europe’s largest hot air balloon festival. Following her passion for writing, she transferred into the world of journalism, working as editor for B2B magazines and websites in Hong Kong before landing her dream role as managing editor of Localiiz.
Born in Hong Kong and raised in the UK, Jenny grew up with the best of both worlds. With previous experience in digital media agencies and start-up businesses, Jenny has huge flexibility in writing styles for both online and offline platforms. As an editor at Localiiz, she works on developing creative content for the site.
Jai Jai is an 11-year-old dachshund from Hong Kong. He keeps the office in check and motivates the team. Though he works for treats, he definitely earns his keep, and is always first in for a meeting.
